Barry McClements is competing in his first Paralympic Games having joined Team Ireland just after Rio.
From Newtownards in Co Down, McClements has previously represented Ireland at the European Championships in Dublin 2018, the World Para Swimming Championships in London 2019.
He also competed for Northern Ireland at the 2018 Commonwealth Games where he reached the 100m freestyle and 100m backstroke finals.
His stated ambition is to take a medal home from Japan.
