The Wicklow native will compete in the Grade III class aboard her 10-year-old mare Serafina T.
After strong performances in 2019 at competitions in Doha and Waregem among others, Horan broke her wrist and some bones in her hand just before Christmas that year, ruling her out of action in early 2020.
But she is confident that the experience she and Serafina T enjoyed in Doha will be of benefit on the big stage in Tokyo: "It was my mares first time flying and to know that she took that all in her stride was very reassuring with the next Olympics being in Tokyo."
