Event: Swimming - S6, SB5, SM6
Patrick Flanagan is preparing for his first Paralympic Games after being officially chosen last month.
The Longford-native competes across the S6, SB5 and SM6 classes, with 100m backstroke and the 400m freestyle his favoured events.
Born with spina bifida Flanagan first represented Ireland at senior level at the 2018 European Championships where he just missed out on a medal. He did claim medals at underage level representing Ireland at the European Para Youth Games in 2015.
Outside of sport Flanagan is in the final year of a Economics and Finance degree in UCD.
