Mona McSharry was fourth in the 50m breaststroke, while Ellen Walshe secured two sixth-placed finishes in the 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley on the final day of the World Aquatics World Cup in Indiana.
McSharry, who was also fourth in the 100m breaststroke over the weekend, missed a medal by just two hundredths of a second. The Sligo woman clocked 29.82 with the bronze medal won in 29.80 by Germany's Anna Elendt.
Estonia’s Eneli Jefimova took gold in 29.33 with silver going to Belgium’s Florine Gaspard in 29.58.
Already a silver and bronze medal winner over the weekend in the 400m individual medley and 200m butterfly, Walshe touched touched in 57.27 in the butterfly final, improving on her heat time of 57.39 and was home in 2:07.31 in the medley, bettering her preliminary swim of 2:07.52.
Both swimmers will both return for stop two of the Aquatics World Cup from this Friday to Sunday in Illinios.
