Róisín Ní Riain rounded off her World Para Swimming Championships with a fifth medal in Singapore, while Dearbhaile Brady added silver to her collection on the final day of competition.

Limerick woman Ní Riain, who had already pocketed three silvers (100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 400m freestyle), as well bronze medal in the 100m butterfly, climbed the podium for the final time with bronze in SM13 200m individual medley.

Second at the 50m mark to Italian Carlotta Gilli, it was Olivia Chambers of the USA that made her move to the front. She won the race in a time 2:25.83, with Gilli taking silver and Ní Riain posting a time of 2:29.75 for third.

Speaking after the final about her five medal haul Ní Riain said: "To be honest that was my goal coming here, not a goal that I obviously told anyone but you know what I wanted to achieve coming here.

"The time there wasn't the best, but I suppose it’s just about learning to race all these events at a major like this."

It was a day to remember for Team Ireland with Brady claiming her second medal of the championships with silver in the S6 50m butterfly final.
