On the final day of the World Para Swimming European Open Championships in Madeira, Nicole Turner brought the curtain down in spectacular fashion, winning another silver medal, this time in the S6 50m Butterfly Final.
Having already won two bronze and one silver this week, Turner went into her main event on Day 7 of the competition full of confidence.
The Laois woman battled from the start with Eleanor Robinson from Team GB,and it was the latter who tool gold in a time of 36.39 seconds, just 0.65 seconds ahead of Turner in 37.04.
Turner native wraps up her week after competing in four events over the seven days, finishing on the podium in all four events.
Róisín Ní Ríaín also won bronze on her debut at a major Para competition.
Irish Para swimmers will now turn their attentions to the summer and the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with one male and three female slots already secured.
