With the Irish public being urged to maintain social distancing and self-isolate if required, we are increasingly looking for movies to watch, books to read and rooms to clean.

RTÉ Sport is speaking to our sports stars and asking how they're using their time and tweaking their training routines to stay fit and healthy.

Today, it's the turn of Paralympic and World Championship medallist Ellen Keane.

What's the first thing you do in the morning?

Coffee. I’m literally the sleepiest morning person. My brain just doesn’t function before I have coffee.

What’s your favourite exercise?

I should say swimming but apart from swimming it's yoga. I love seeing the progress that my body is making and seeing myself get more flexible. The calming element of yoga is really important for my mental health too.

Is there one particular skill you practice every day?

I’ve been using my spare time to take time to practice my cooking skills. I’m enjoying trying new things and challenging myself.

Netflix and chill or a nice evening jog?

Netflix & chill. I can’t jog.

Name one book you want to read.

Grown Ups by Marian Keyes.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how good are your DIY skills?

Hmmm... 7. I can put IKEA furniture together… but I also live with someone who used to work in IKEA so its easier to let him do it.

Do you have a favourite pre-training meal to help you through a tough session?

I’m a big lover of porridge. It’s a great base for endless flavour possibilities.

Name one movie you want to watch

Creed II.

What’s the best way to stave off boredom?

Going for a walk. Explore the 2km radius. You’d be surprised at things you didn’t notice before.

Have you any tips for training at home?

Make sure you’re fuelled properly. Being under-fuelled puts your body under unnecessary stress. Don’t starve yourself. Fuel before and after and make sure you’re hydrated.

Name one documentary you want to see.

I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen the Katie Taylor documentary yet.

Have you discovered any new music or podcasts?

I’m obsessed with Niall Horan’s new album.

Is there one piece of housework you can no longer avoid?

I spent three days absolutely scrubbing my bathroom. So no.

Favourite room of the house to spend time in?

The kitchen
