Mona McSharry and Brendan Hyland are through to their respective semi-finals in the 100m Breaststroke and 200m Butterfly at the European Championships in Glasgow.
McSharry qualified in joint 15th of the 16 who will swim again this evening. She clocked a time of 1:08.53 and will be back in the pool at 5.30pm
Hyland was placed eighth of 16 after the completion of the heats in his event. His time of 1:57.55 was just outside his Irish record. The semi-final is due off at 5.40pm.
"It’s been a while coming, so I’m happy," he said.
"I was aware my heat swims are always a bit iffy but I’m glad to get back out and attack it and see what I can do.
"It’s my first time making a semi-final. I think I’ll just enjoy the race, not think about times and try and make that final."
