Fiona Doyle fails to reach 100m Breaststroke final

Ireland’s Fiona Doyle has missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the women’s 100 metre breaststroke at the FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

Doyle swam a time of 1.07.81 in heat five this morning. That was just outside her Irish record of 1.07.15, which was good enough for a bronze medal in at the World University Games in South Korea last month.

However, today Doyle finished sixth in her heat and was placed 20th overall.
