Irish swimmer Fiona Doyle had a weekend to remember as she broke three Irish senior records in Canada.

The Limerick woman, who is based in Calgary, was competing at the Canadian Intervarsity Swimming Championships in Victoria.

Doyle’s record-breaking feats began in the heats of the 100m breastroke when she recorded a time of 1:05.95 and qualified first into the final.

In the final, Doyle went under World Championship and FINA Olympic ‘A’ times to win the event for the third year running in a time of 1:07.76.

Competing in the 200m breaststroke heats (short course), a time of 2:23.64 set a new Irish record, breaking the 23-year-old's own previous mark.

She also won the long course final and set a further Irish record along the way, coming home in a time of 2:27.63.

Doyle has now set her sights on Olympic qualification for Rio in 2016.

She said: "I'm really hoping to qualify for the Olympics this summer. I believe that is attainable as I have already gone under the cut twice this year."
