Irish women's relay team smash Irish record

The Irish team today came ninth in the Freestyle Relay taking a massive seven seconds off the Irish record in the process, setting a new record of 1.42.32. The team consisted of Julie Douglas, Lee Kelleher, Emma Robinson and Chantal Gibney.

Swimming in her main event Claire Hogan, recorded a personal best time of 1.04.06 in the 100m Individual Medley and made second reserve semi-finalist. Steven Manley, in the 100m Freestyle, repeated his sub 50 performance, in a time of 49.87.

In the sprint events, Sinead Tyrell time of 29.89 was a personal best time for her, with Julie Douglas 28.28, Lee Kelleher 28.94, Melanie Nocher 29.32 in the same event. In the 50m Backstroke Donal O'Neill recorded 26.42
