Lee Kelleher was the only Irish winner on day one of the 10th Leisureland International meet in Salthill. 21-year-old Kelleher delighted the Galway crowd when she won the Women's 200 metres butterfly, with her time of two minutes 12.83 seconds quick enough to gain qualification for the European Championships later this year.
Unania Savenule of the Ukraine set an allcomers record in the Women's 200m individual medley. In the feature event, American Michael Gillingham took the Men's 100m freestyle in a time of 50.08 seconds.
