Andrew Bree, swiming for Northern Ireland, has broken the Irish record in the 200 metres breaststroke that he set earlier today. He broke his record by almost 0.8 of a second at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Bree swam a time of 2 minutes 14.48 seconds, 0.77 of a second off his earlier record.
Earlier today he broke Gary O'Toole's long-standing Irish 200 metres breaststoke record with a time of 2 minutes 15.25 seconds, cutting .52 of a second of O'Toole's time, set when he won the silver medal at the European Championships in Bonn in 1989.
