Heimir Hallgrimsson has included Lincoln City attacking midfielder Jack Moylan and Benfica teenager Jaden Umeh among nine uncapped players in his Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming training camp and friendly in Murcia.

The Boys in Green will jet off to Spain on Thursday for the camp which is aimed at bringing together largely fringe players who are not involved in top-flight games or promotion play-offs.

It will be bookended by a friendly against Grenada at the Estadio Enrique Roca, Murcia on Saturday, 16 May.

A subsequent squad for the friendlies against Qatar (28 May at Aviva Stadium) and Canada (6 June in Montreal) will be named following the game against Grenada.

Among the squad regulars included are Dara O'Shea, Jayson Molumby, Jason Knight, Chiedozie Ogbene and Adam Idah. However, Harvey Vale, Sammie Szmodics, Robbie Brady and Jack Taylor have been left out as they are struggling with injuries, and a hamstring issue is behind Bosun Lawal's absence.

As expected, the in-form Moylan is included among the new faces. The ex-Shelbourne man has scored 11 goals for League One side Lincoln City since last December, helping them to promotion to the Championship.

Former Cork City youngster Umeh has yet to make a senior appearance for Portuguese giants Benfica but has been capped up to under-21 level for Ireland, while he was also one of the key players in the Irish squad for last November's FIFA Under-17 World Cup.

The other uncapped players are goalkeepers Josh Keeley and Killian Cahill, defenders Eiran Cashin (Blackburn Rovers, on loan from Derby County), Tayo Adaramola (Sheffield Wednesday) and Joel Bagan (Cardiff City) - although the latter is a doubt due to injury - Portsmouth winger Millenic Alli and Oxford United and ex-Shamrock Rovers forward Aidomo Emakhu.

Keeley and Alli, however, have been called up to the senior squad before.

Hallgrimsson has opted not to call up any current League of Ireland players for the camp, although some may come into consideration for the games within the FIFA window against Qatar and Canada.

The manager added that they are looking at adding a 22nd name to the squad.

Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland under-21 head coach Jim Crawford will be part of the senior staff for the camp.
