It was very much a case of a draw not pleasing anyone at Dalymount Park on Bank Holiday Monday.
Neither Bohemians boss Alan Reynolds or his opposite number, Joey O'Brien, in the Shelbourne hotseat cut a satisfied figure after an exciting Dublin derby finished 2-2 in Phibsborough.
The hosts took an early lead though Adam McDonnell in the 10th minute before Shels turned the game around with goals from John Martin and substitute Harry Wood.
The points looked to be heading back to Tolka Park before Harry Vaughan's last-minute intervention rescued a point for the Gypsies.
It's now nine games without a win for Bohemians, yet they remain in third place in the table, six points behind second-placed St Patrick's Athletic and nine behind leaders Shamrock Rovers.
Bohs boss Reynolds felt his side dominated large parts of the game though the Dalymount Park pitch perhaps didn't lend itself to a free-flowing game.
" I'm just frustrated, actually," Reynolds told RTÉ Sport's Tony O'Donoghue after the game. "Frustrated because we dominated a lot of possession. Now, look, the pitch wasn't great. They were very direct. We, at times didn't deal with it. We gave up cheap goals.
"I know stats count for nothing, but we dominated a lot of it and I'm disappointed really. It would've been a travesty not to get anything out of that. They defend very well, so when you give them a lead, it's hard to get back into it."
Despite their seemingly horrendous run, Bohs remain third in the table. But their manager knows they have to get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.
"We just feel if we keep going, get that other little edge, that those wins will come," he said. "It's just fine margins that we're disappointed with... that's what I'm frustrated with but you can't question the character."
The busy schedule led many teams to shuffle their playing deck heading into the Monday fixtures after a full schedule of games last Friday. Reynolds stressed his side's preparation will be key as the season motors along.
"They're a fit bunch, we prepare in pre-season for this, to be able to go and play. I don't think fitness came into it with ourselves anyway."
Shels boss O'Brien was equally unenthused with the solitary point his side took home from Dalymount.
"Disappointed really, to be honest," he said. "To concede late on... we had a couple of good chances on the break there, like to get that third goal, and we didn't take it.
"These games are decided by moments. We didn't get that third goal and they made us pay for it."
Wood came off the bench in the second half to a rapturous welcome from the away fans. His goal almost won the day for his side. Like Reynolds, O'Brien feels you simply can't take on the busy Premier Division schedule without a squad that boasts strength in depth.
"Lads coming off the bench now can have that big impact," O'Brien said. "Harry's here. He's one of the best players in the league. We need to look after him as well. He's played some amount of minutes for us, so we don't want to burn him out.
"That was always the plan to get him on, and hopefully try change the game for us - which he did."
