Republic of Ireland defender Liam Scales has signed a new Celtic contract that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2030.
The Bhoys have an option to extend the deal for a further year, with Scales being rewarded for his good form in what has been a challenging campaign for the Glasgow giants.
Despite a major mid-season wobble, they're still in with a chance of winning the title after Martin O'Neill steadied the ship in the wake of Wilfried Nancy's disastrous spell at the helm. They're also into the Scottish Cup final, where Dunfermline Athletic await.
Scales, 27, joined Celtic from Shamrock Rovers in 2021, and is now closing in on 150 appearances for the Hoops.
"I’m delighted to commit for another few years here," he said. "It’s an amazing club and I’ve grown to love it. I feel a real part of it now.
"I really enjoy myself here, I love my life here in Scotland and it was good for all parties to get this done.
"I feel like I’ve got the game experience now, I’ve played nearly 150 games for the club and I’ve played for Ireland.
"It’s all coming together nicely and I just want to continue on the right trajectory over these next few years."
Celtic boss O’Neill was full of praise for the Wicklow man, adding: "I’m delighted for him and delighted for the club because I think Liam’s been outstanding, and since I’ve been here, he’s been absolutely terrific.
"We are a better team when he’s in and he’s also got the ability to play left-back, and I think it’s good news for the club because he’s always there.
"I like him a lot and I think he’s been a major player for us this season."
