Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley that his side are just starting to hit their stride after they beat Dublin rivals Bohemians 2-1 at Tallaght Stadium to maintain their lead at the top of the League of Ireland Premier Division.
The Hoops had to dig deep at times against their fierce rivals, but two first half goals by Graham Burke, the second a disputed penalty.
Bohemians pulled a second-half goal back through a Colm Whelan penalty, but despite dominating affairs after that and creating more chances, the visitors were unable to find an equaliser.
The win sees Rovers move five points ahead of Bohs and with St Pat's at Dundalk both also winning, Bradley’s side hold a two-point lead at the top of the table after 12 games.
The Rovers boss admits that he’s happy with how the season is going, but he believes that his players have more to give.
Speaking to RTÉ Sport, he said: "We're in a good place, there's still so much more to come from us, and I think we'll see that as we go. But we're in a good place, if you had offered me this in January when we came back, I'd take your hand off.
"We've had to work to get there, let's not forget that, it's not just handed to us, we've had to be very successful, we've had to sell a lot of players.
"Sometimes I think people forget, I think we just walked into this. We've had to work."
Reflecting on the game, the Rovers boss was pleased with his side’s first-half performance, but admitted that the game got away from them after the Bohs penalty.
"First half we were very good, second half we had to dig in, which we did," he said. "We made some important blocks at times, Ed [McGinty] made some good saves.
You need them moments in these games, but overall I felt we deserved to win the game.
"Other than the penalty, second half Ed made two brilliant saves, and I thought we were good.
"We just need to relax and do what we were doing. There were times we could have really hurt them in the first-half and we didn't take the opportunity, so it was just about seeing can we fix that in the second half.
"But our decisions were wrong and then they got momentum and it was just about fighting then."
