Republic of Ireland head coach Carla Ward described Katie McCabe as the "best left-back in the world" after the captain helped her side to an important World Cup qualifier victory over Poland in Gdansk.
McCabe netted a supreme first-half volley in a rollercoaster 3-2 win that lifted the Girls in Green to third in the group. The Dubliner did miss a late penalty kick that would have killed the contest, but that malfunction did not dilute Ward's praise.
"I don't know if the camera even caught my face, I think I stood still for a moment or two," she told RTÉ Sport's Tony O'Donoghue when asked about the McCabe volley.
"It was unbelievable, wasn't it? It takes some serious world-class technique. We're blessed. We've got the best left-back in the world, in my opinion. How she struck that ball, how she landed it, it was superb.
"I'll be honest, I haven't seen it back and I want to see it back, so we'll have a look in a minute."
Ward was very pleased with how her side executed the game plan on a difficult pitch.
Poland drew with the Netherlands 2-2 at the same venue a month ago, and possessed - in Barcelona striker Ewa Pajor - an elite attacking threat.
However, they were largely out-thought by a confident Irish outfit.
"It was well deserved," said Ward. "I think for 90 minutes we were the better team. We're disappointed with the two goals, of course, you know me, we'd like to have kept a clean sheet. But this group of players, I say it all the time, they deserve an awful lot of credit.
"Three games against three top nations, we've competed in all three, but to turn the result in tonight, away from home in a tricky place to play, they deserve an awful lot of credit.
"We went in at half-time, we wanted to be better in terms of controlling some spaces and I think second half we did that. But how aggressive we were in our areas was really impressive and we didn't let them breathe.
"I really hope that the girls get the praise they deserve tonight because they've shown now across three games how well they've done. We said we wanted to get over the line against these sorts of teams and they have."
Ward also had warm words for Marissa Sheva, who bagged a brilliant goal herself to further enhance her growing reputation in a green jersey.
"She's been superb. She takes messages on, she knocks on the door, she asks how she can be better all the time. Like I said, this group, I say it to you all year, don't I, that this group just want to learn, they want to improve all the time and you can see that they are."
Ireland face the Poles again on Saturday, this time at Aviva Stadium. Ward is hoping there's a big turnout for the 3pm kick-off, and stressed the importance of parking this evening's result quickly as they look to follow it up with another big win.
"We've got to make sure the moment that we get on the bus in a minute that everything that we do in between now and then is at an absolute level," she added.
"We've got to make sure we recover right, we've got to analyse it, we've got to be better, we've got to make sure that every single one of our behaviours is world-class behaviours.
"If we can do that, then we've got a chance of going out there and getting three points. We want to take six points from here, from this window, and if we can, then it puts us in a really strong position."
