Keith Treacy keen to see Jack Moylan call-up for Ireland's May training camp after 'brilliant' season

Jack Moylan of Lincoln City celebrates following the Sky Bet League One match between Lincoln City and Leyton Orient at LNER Stadium on April 11, 2026 in Lincoln, United Kingdom.

Keith Treacy is keen to see what Jack Moylan can bring to the table if the Lincoln City forward is called into the Republic of Ireland squad for next month's training camp in Murcia.

That window will mark the start of Ireland's preparations for autumn's UEFA Nations League assignments as Heimir Hallgrimsson and his staff look to move on from the World Cup play-off pain in Prague.

A friendly against Grenada has been lined up for 16 May during their Spanish stay with plans to organise another game before that. Meanwhile, the pre-World Cup period will see subsequent friendlies against Qatar in Dublin and Canada in Montreal.

The timing of the Murcia camp means fringe options and uncapped players will have an opportunity to be included.

Per Hallgrimsson, League of Ireland players are highly unlikely to be included given the camp coincides with a busy portion of the domestic campaign.

Ireland senior squad regulars at top-flight clubs around Europe will definitely not be available, nor will those involved in promotion play-offs in the English Championship or below.

That will not be an issue for former Shelbourne striker Moylan. The Dubliner has already sealed promotion from League One with Lincoln, meaning his club season will come to an end on 2 May.

And what a season it has been, especially since the turn of the year. The 24-year-old has scored nine of his 10 league goals since mid-January and has grown in prominence for Lincoln playing off the main striker.

With the form he is in, ex-Ireland winger Treacy believes he should be a shoo-in for a training camp and friendlies.

"I would like Jack Moylan to come in," he told the RTÉ Soccer Podcast.

"Lincoln have obviously gone straight up. He's had a brilliant season, ten goals and four assists.

"League of Ireland fans will know him from his time at Shelbourne. And this is not me saying 'Jack needs to be in the starting XI for Ireland and he's the one moving forward'.

"But I think there are certain players throughout a season who might not be on the radar but this is the time to pat them on the back and say, 'We are having a look at you, you are in our plans. Although you might not be the number one, come in, have a look behind the curtain, we want to have a look at you as well'.

"This would be a big pat on the back. He'll be playing Championship football next season, it'll be another big step up."

Also speaking on the podcast, former Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic goalkeeper Barry Murphy pointed to other players that Hallgrimsson and his staff could include or fast-track for a training camp scenario, namely Benfica and Ireland youth international winger Jaden Umeh.

Tayo Adaramola of Sheffield Wednesday prepares to take a throw-in during the Sky Bet Championship match between Coventry City and Sheffield Wednesday at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry, United Kingdom, on April 11, 2026.
Ireland U21 cap Tayo Adaramola in action against Coventry on Saturday

"I think someone like Tayo Adaramola, I think he's someone totally different," he said.

"He's a left wing back for Sheffield Wednesday. He's aggressive and he's tailor-made for that (Ireland) system and had a clean sheet against Coventry at the weekend.

"You've got some good other players (with minimal caps) like Rocco Vata and Andy Moran, who scored last weekend versus Leicester.

"I'd like to see someone like Jaden Umeh fast-tracked into the team. I think we're too conservative about these games and Heimir talks about continuity.

"I think use these games to solve future problems. Like if (Chiedozie) Ogbene is not there, what's our outlet, how would we react to that during a game?

"We need to have ready-made replacements to come in, who have had a bit of game exposure and as Keith said, you're not going to come straight into the Ireland first team, or maybe even the first squad.

"But we need to have options and these games need to be used for that I think."
