Arsenal quest for the treble could be derailed by an injury crisis which has reached double figures over the international break.
Martin Zubimendi's withdrawal from the Spain squad took the number of Gunners stars to pull out of international duty to 10.
Midfielder Zubimendi replaced Manchester City's Rodri for the final 15 minutes of Spain's 3-0 win over Serbia on Friday.
But he will play no part in Tuesday's friendly against Egypt after returning to London with what the Spanish Football Federation explained was "discomfort in his right knee".
Zubimendi's withdrawal followed that of full-back Piero Hincapie, who played 72 minutes of Ecuador's 1-1 draw against Morocco on Friday but has since been sent home.
England trio Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke have pulled out of Thomas Tuchel's squad, the latter having been on the end of a heavy tackle against Uruguay on Friday which saw him leave Wembley in a knee brace.
William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Eberechi Eze, Jurrien Timber and Leandro Trossard had all previously been ruled out of international duty through injury.
Premier League leaders Arsenal travel to Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday before the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at Sporting Lisbon next Tuesday.
