Celtic fans have been fined after supporters disrupted the Europa League tie with Stuttgart

Celtic have been fined €15,000 after a section of their supporters disrupted their Europa League match at home to Stuttgart last month.

The first leg of the knockout round play-off at Parkhead, which the Germans won 4-1, witnessed a false start as dozens of small orange and yellow balls were thrown on to the pitch in the opening seconds as Hoops fans continued their protests against the board and the banning of the Green Brigade ultras group.

UEFA's list of disciplinary decisions taken by its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body was released on Thursday and showed that Celtic had been fined 15,000 euros for the "throwing of objects".

Stuttgart were also fined 22,500 euros after their supporters were deemed to have "transmitted a message that is not fit for a sports event" during the second leg in Germany, which the Hoops won 1-0 on their way to a 4-2 aggregate defeat.
