Northern Ireland have appointed Michael McArdle as their new senior women's football manager.
McArdle joins from the Scottish FA, where he was head of elite women’s football and took interim charge of the women’s team during the 2025 Nations League qualifying campaign.
He succeeds interim boss Kris Lindsay as Northern Ireland look to turn around their Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign following opening losses to Switzerland and Turkey.
Speaking in an interview posted to the association’s account on X, McArdle said: "We’ve got an exciting group that are in transition already with strong senior experience, coupled with a lot of exciting young talent, but also exciting talent within the country as well that is still to be recognised at national team level.
"Definitely looking forward to helping us strive towards achieving at a national level."
