Federico Valverde struck in the fourth minute of stoppage time as Real Madrid snatched a vital 2-1 win at Celta Vigo to bounce back from consecutive LaLiga defeats.

Madrid risked losing more ground on leaders Barcelona after Borja Iglesias punished a mistake from Trent Alexander-Arnold to cancel out Aurelien Tchouameni's 11th minute opener, but Valverde poked in on the rebound at the death.

Paris St Germain’s Ligue 1 title defence suffered a blow on home turf as they lost 3-1 to Monaco.

Goals in either half from Maghnes Akliouche and Aleksandr Golovin – who scored 25 seconds after coming off the bench – had Monaco in control, and although Bradley Barcola pulled one back, Folarin Balogun almost immediately killed it to give Lens a chance to move within a point of the summit on Sunday.

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich did not miss an injured Harry Kane as they thrashed Borussia Monchengladbach 4-1 for a fifth straight league win, with Luis Diaz, Konrad Laimer, Jamal Musiala and Nicolas Jackson on target before the 17-year-old Wael Mohya pulled one back.

In Serie A, Napoli strengthened their hold on a Champions League place with a 2-1 win over Torino as Alisson Santos and Eljif Elmas scored either side of half-time, with Cesare Casedei getting one back.
