St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson stressed the club would be in control of Killian Phillips' future this summer after triggering a one-year contract extension.
The Republic of Ireland international could yet move on in the close season but Saints will be able to command a fee that could rise if several interested parties make their moves.
Speaking ahead of Saturday night’s visit of Motherwell, Robinson said: "There’s been a lot of interest in Killian, a lot of people talking about Killian.
"Whenever we do lose him, it’ll be certainly on our terms.
"I’d be foolish to say that I’m not expecting that. Him and Miguel Freckleton have attracted a lot of attention over the last few weeks, especially in and around the window.
"But we’ll do it on our terms. We certainly don’t want any of them to leave. But again, it shows that the quality that we’ve brought in, people are looking at them.
"And on the whole, it’s something that the club’s about – bringing people in, they move on to bigger and better things.
"But unlike other years, perhaps we’re in control of how that happens and for how much that happens."
Phillips has three Irish caps, the most recent of which came in September's 2-1 defeat to Armenia in Yerevan.
He has played every game for The Buddies this season, including their historic League Cup victory over Celtic at Hampden Park, scoring three goals in the process.
