Troy Parrott had a goal bizarrely ruled out as AZ Alkmaar were held to a 1-1 draw by Ajax in the Eredivisie.
Parrott seemed to have put his team 2-0 up with just over 15 minutes to play, but the header was chalked off to the confusion of the home players and supporters.
After a VAR intervention the referee went to the monitor and eventually ruled the goal out for offside, despite neither Parrott, nor the player who headed the ball across goal, being in offside positions.
The decision was all the more frustrating given that Alkmaar conceded an equaliser deep into stoppage time, with Kian Fitz-Jim, who formerly played for Alkmaar, finding the back of the net
Irishman Parrott played the full game, with the point seeing De Kaaskoppen finish the weekend seventh in the table.
