Shelbourne have made a major move in the transfer market by bringing Will Jarvis back to the club from Notts County for an undisclosed fee.
Jarvis has signed a long-term contract with the Reds in what will be his third spell at Tolka Park.
The 23-year-old first joined Shels on loan in the summer of 2023, making 12 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists as Damien Duff's side finished fourth in the table.
He returned in 2024, hitting nine goals but was recalled by his parent club Hull City before Shels went on to lift the league crown.
His outstanding form was recognised with two League of Ireland Player of the Month awards that season in what was a major contribution to Shels becoming champions.
Jarvis went back to play for Hull in the Championship, making 11 senior appearances before joining Notts County a year ago.
Joey O'Brien acted quickly when the chance to bring Jarvis back to Dublin came.
Jarvis said: "It all came about very quickly, once I heard from Joey and Luke (Byrne), it was a no-brainer for me once I heard they wanted me back. I said to myself it's about time to come back. I loved my time at Shels and I’m thrilled to be returning, it really does feel like coming home in a way.
"The years here were the best I’ve had in football. I think of the memories in 2023 and 2024. The club, the staff, and the fans helped me grow as a player and I’m excited to come back here again. There’s something special about playing at Tolka and I want to help bring more success here."
O'Brien feels this is a huge signing for Shels: "Bringing Will back on a permanent deal is a huge boost for us. His record here speaks for itself. He brings goals, creativity, and real attacking intent. He knows this club, he knows this league, and we’re excited to have him back as part of our long term plans."
Jarvis could make his debut in Friday's league opener with Waterford at the RSC if international clearance arrives in time.
