Republic of Ireland striker Johnny Kenny has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan from Celtic until the end of the season.
The 22-year old Sligo-born striker formally joined the League One side this evening, as Celtic snapped up Nigerian centre-forward Junior Adamu from Freiburg.
"I knew there'd been an interest and Bolton reached out to me a lot during the summer, but I wanted to give Celtic a crack and I think I have in the last six months. But I'm happy to be here now," Kenny told the Bolton Wanderers website.
"I'll look forward to the next few months. The club is in a brilliant position. We want to go and get promoted and that's the aim."
Kenny joins a Bolton side who are currently third in League One, six points adrift of Lincoln City in second place and eight points leaders, Cardiff City, who are currently managed by Brian Barry Murphy.
The striker confirmed that he was eager to get first team football ahead to stake his claim to a place in the Republic of Ireland set-up ahead of March's playoff game away to Czechia.
"I want to play regularly every week to put myself in the picture for the Ireland squad too. It's an aim to get back playing every week.
"That's the aim to be involved in that squad. It's the ultimate ambition to play for your country on a regular basis."
"I want to play regularly every week to put myself in the picture for the Ireland squad too."
Kenny, who began his career at Sligo Rovers, won two Premier Division titles with Shamrock Rovers in 2023 and 2024, impressing in the club's Conference League campaign at the end of 2024.
He made sufficient appearances for Celtic to earn a Scottish Premiership medal in 2024-25 and became a first-choice option in the first half of the 2025-26 season, scoring six times in 22 games.
Adamu, meanwhile, became Celtic's first deadline-day signing after the Scottish champions rejected a £25million bid for Arne Engels.
Sammie Szmodics is another Republic of Ireland international on the move, joining Derby County on loan until the end of the season.
The 30-year old Szmodics, who has scored once in 16 games for Ipswich Town this season, heads to Pride Park, where he will reunite with John Eustace, the former Republic of Ireland coach having been his manager at Blackburn Rovers.
Derby are currently seventh in the Championship, one spot outside the playoff spots and four points behind Ipswich in fourth.
Szmodics has made 11 appearances for Republic of Ireland, last appearing in the 2-2 draw against Hungary in the World Cup qualification opener last September.
Another Republic of Ireland midfielder, Andrew Moran, is returning from the US as he joins Preston North End on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The 22-year old Dubliner, who has three Ireland caps, returns to the Championsbip after five months in the MLS with Los Angeles FC.

Moran arrives at Preston on a permanent transfer, departing parent club Brighton, where he made just one appearance for the senior team, amid long loan spells at Blackburn, Stoke and latter with Los Angeles.
Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom said: "Andy is someone we've been speaking to for a bit in the window. We're delighted to have got another one who is our player, a young player, who has competed in the Championship and is a full international.
"He’s a good age, so it's a really good signing, not only for now for the club, but what we want to do going forward as well."
Liverpool have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet after agreeing a fee of £55million (€63.5m) plus add-ons.
The 20-year-old will remain at the Ligue 1 side for the rest of the season before moving to Anfield in the summer.
It comes after the Blues held talks in January and had been told that a fee and personal terms for the player would not be an issue.
However, the situation changed following speculation Mamadou Sarr is set to return to Chelsea from his loan at Strasbourg.
The club's determination to keep academy graduate Josh Acheampong as well as the possibility of Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate departing Anfield in the summer when his contract expires are also understood to have been factors in Jacquet's decision.
The France under-21 international has has played for Rennes 18 times this season and his impressive displays since graduating from the club's academy have seen him linked with a host of European clubs.
Brighton playmaker Brajan Gruda has moved to RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season.
The Germany under-21 international signed a four-year deal after moving to Brighton from Mainz for €25million (€29m) in August 2024, going on to score four times and contribute eight assists in 45 appearances.
However, he has made just eight starts in the Premier League this season and Brighton have agreed to let him temporarily return to the Bundesliga.

Crystal Palace have completed the club-record signing of Norway forward Jorgen Strand Larsen (above) from Wolves.
Strand Larsen has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract and moves to Selhurst Park in a package worth £48million, it is understood.
Palace made a move for Strand Larsen after they granted Jean-Philippe Mateta's wish to leave the club in this winter transfer window.
Mateta’s proposed deadline-day switch to Serie A giants AC Milan has since fallen through, but it failed to stop Palace’s pursuit of Strand Larsen and they will pay an initial £43m with a further £5m included in the deal in add-ons.
