Celtic have announced the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Tomas Cvancara on loan for the rest of the season.
The Czech international has moved to Glasgow in time to face William Hill Premiership leaders Hearts on Sunday, with Celtic securing an option to buy the 25-year-old at the end of the campaign.
Cvancara scored eight goals in two seasons in Germany before being loaned in the summer to Antalyaspor, where his spell was cut short after one goal in 11 games amid financial issues with the Turkish club.
"It's a massive honour to sign for this club," said Cvancara, whose deal at Celtic is subject to international clearance.
"We have lots of challenges ahead of us and I am ready to get going and do everything I can to meet these and bring success to our brilliant supporters.
"Celtic is one of the great names in world football and I am delighted to be here to play my part."
Cvancara arrives at a club who are still looking for serious replacements for Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah, both of whom left last year.
Hoops boss Martin O'Neill, speaking on Wednesday ahead of Celtic's Europa League clash in Bologna, cautioned against expecting too much too soon from the 6ft 2in Cvancara.
O'Neill said in a statement on Thursday: "We are delighted to welcome Tomas to the club, we believe he has some real qualities and we think he will be an important addition to the squad going forward."
Tottenham left-back Souza has realised a childhood dream after he completed a move to the Premier League club.
Spurs announced the signing of the 19-year-old defender on Thursday on a long-term contract.
A €15 million deal was struck with Santos earlier this month for highly rated Souza and he can now get to work with his new team-mates after the transfer was finalised.
Souza told the club's website: "It’s an incredible feeling to join a really big club in Spurs.
"I grew up watching the Premier League so this is a childhood dream for me and I can’t wait to get going.
"This is a big step in my development. The Premier League is very different to what I’m used to in Brazil, and I’m really looking forward to this challenge and to being part of the squad here."
Former Brazil under-17 international Souza made his Santos debut at the start of 2024 before the left-footed defender established himself as a regular during the past season.
