Shelbourne have completed the signing of Swedish midfielder Maill Lundgren from Degerfors IF for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old arrives at Tolka Park with a reputation as a technically strong midfielder who can operate centrally or in wide attacking areas.

He came through the academies of IFK Haninge and Enskede IK before gaining senior experience in Sweden and Spain, where he had a spell with Real Murcia.

Lundgren made 10 first-team appearances for Degerfors IF in the Swedish top flight last season, spending the latter part of the year on loan at second-tier outfit Sandvikens IF, where he scored twice in eight games.

"I’m very excited to sign for Shelbourne," he said. "It’s a club with a strong identity, big ambitions and passionate fans. I’m ready to contribute and make an impact."

Shels boss Joey O’Brien added: "Maill is a player we’ve been following for sometime and we’re delighted he’s chosen to take the decision to join us, an attacking player with great technique who looks to take on defenders we feel he'll make a difference in the final third. We can’t wait to get him into the group."

Shelbourne's women's team have brought Maggie Pierce back to the club for the 2026 campaign.

Pierce returns to Tolka Park following a spell with Carolina Ascent.

The former USA underage international previously represented Shels in 2023 and 2024.

"I’m so excited to be coming home to Tolka Park for 2026," she said. "I’ve missed the girls, the staff, the fans and everyone involved in the club. I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch and hopefully help the club achieve success in 2026."
