Shamrock Rovers defender Josh Honohan will join League 1 side Lincoln City, subject to EFL approval and international clearance, both clubs have confirmed.
The 24-year-old defender will move to the Imps on the opening day of the January transfer window.
Honohan, who has been called into Republic of Ireland squads but is awaiting his first cap, will be presented to Hoops supporters in Tallaght Stadium at half-time in the club’s final Conference League group game tonight against Hamrun Spartans.
Honohan joined Rovers at the beginning of 2024 from Cork City and enjoyed two outstanding seasons with Rovers, playing 94 times and scoring 10 goals.
Primarily a centre-back before his time with Rovers, his versatility in defence has seen the Cork native put in commanding displays in a left wing-back role, a real attacking weapon for manager Stephen Bradley.
A domestic double winner this season, he was named in both the 2024 and 2025 PFAI Team of the Year.
The fee for the deal is undisclosed.
Former Ireland international Enda Stevens has joined Shamrock Rovers, with the move confirmed earlier this month.
