Bohemians will return to Aviva Stadium for their opening league game of the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division again next year with St Patrick's Athletic the opponent on this occasion.

The clubs have reached an agreement to play a fixture, which would normally take place at the 4,500 Dalymount Park, at the national stadium to increase revenue.

Last year Bohs hosted Shamrock Rovers for their first game of the campaign which attracted 33,208 spectators, a record crowd for the Premier Division.

The maximum attendance will be capped at 30,000 on this occasion with the upper tier not being opened.

As was flagged earlier in the month, the season has been extended by a week, beginning seven days earlier this campaign.

The clash between the Gypsies and the Saints will take place on Sunday, 8 February.

The season will kick-off on Friday, 6 February, with champions Shamrock Rovers hosting Dundalk at Tallaght Stadium.

Derry City will welcome their nearest rivals Sligo Rovers in the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium, while Jon Daly's first match as Waterford boss will be at home to Shelbourne.

Galway United will face Drogheda United at Eamonn Deacy Park.

The competition will continue through the World Cup, even if the Republic of Ireland qualify, with clashes with someone knockout games. One round of the FAI Cup is scheduled around the conclusion of the globa event. The fixtures may be altered if Ireland progress.

In the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division, champions Athlone Town face the trip to Sligo Rovers while Sean Russell’s first game in charge of Shelbourne will be a clash with his old side Treaty United on Saturday, 14 March.

The First Division begins a week later than the Men's Premier with a Munster Derby as Cork City clash with Treaty United on Friday, 13 February at Turner's Cross.

Bray Wanderers face Longford Town, Cobh Ramblers welcome Wexford, Kerry travel to UCD and Athlone host Finn Harps.

The 2026 Sports Direct Men's FAI Cup final will take place at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, 8 November, a week on from the end of the Premier Division season, with the Sports Direct Women’s FAI Cup decider being held at Tallaght Stadium on Sunday, 27 September.

Derry City will face in the Hoops in the curtain-raiser for the new season.

The President’s Cup clash will be on Saturday, 31 January, with a 5pm kick-off at Tallaght Stadium.
