Republic of Ireland striker Kyra Carusa has departed NWSL outfit San Diego Wave after reaching the end of her contract.

Carusa has been at the club since August 2023, when she signed from London City Lionesses.

However she's found opportunties increasingly harder to come by under boss Jonas Eidevall, and is now set for a fresh start in the new year.

Carusa remains a key player for Carla Ward's Girls in Green, playing in both legs of November's Nations League promotion/relegation play-off win against Belgium.

Elsewhere former Athlone Town striker Kelly Brady has agreed to join WSL 2 side Crystal Palace.

Brady had a brilliant year with the midlanders, her goals firing them to a domestic double.

Brady, born in New York, was in the Ireland squad for the recent behind-closed-doors friendly against Hungary.

Last Friday, she was named the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Women's Personality of the Year.

"London is calling," said Brady upon receiving the award as she confirmed she has agreed a deal to sign for Palace.

She'll join compatriots Abbie Larkin, Ruesha Littlejohn and Hayley Nolan at the club.
