Waterford have announced the permanent signing of Conan Noonan from Shamrock Rovers for a club record fee.

The midfielder enjoyed a successful loan period with the Blues and has signed a three-year deal with the club.

Waterford didn't disclose the fee for the 26-year-old, but confirmed he has become the club’s record signing.

Noonan made 36 appearances for Waterford across all competitions, scoring nine goals and claiming six assists throughout the season.

Noonan, who joined the Shamrock Rovers academy in 2015, ended the season on a high for the Blues, scoring the equaliser against Bray Wanderers in the Promotion/Relegation Play-Off Final victory at Tolka Park last month, before being named Waterford’s Player of the Year.

"I'm delighted to be back here permanently at the club," he said. "I loved every minute of last year and I'm really excited to get back in and playing under Jon Daly now."

Waterford have further boosted their squad with the addition of full-back Benny Cuoto, who joins from relegated Cork City.

Connor Malley meanwhile has agreed a "multi-year" deal with Shamrock Rovers after initially joining the club on loan from Sligo Rovers in July.

Elsewhere former Athlone Town striker Kelly Brady (above) has confirmed she is joining WSL2 side Crystal Palace.

Brady had a brilliant year with the midlanders, her goals firing them to a domestic double.

Brady, born in New York, was in the Republic of Ireland squad for last week's behind-closed-doors friendly against Hungary.

On Friday, she was named the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Women's Personality of the Year.

"London is calling," said Brady upon receiving the award as she confirmed she has agreed a deal to join Palace.

She'll join fellow Girls in Green Abbie Larkin, Ruesha Littlejohn and Hayley Nolan at the club.
