Experienced midfielder Keith Buckley has signed for Dundalk after departing Bohemians, while Kerry FC's Ronan Teehan has also moved to Oriel Park.

The newly-promoted Lilywhites have been seeking to add Premier Division nous to their squad, with veteran Buckley the first top-flight player to sign up.

Buckley said he can't wait to get started.

The 34-year-old stated: "I can’t wait now to get started in a week or two. It’s a fresh start and a new challenge for me. I’m looking forward to it and really excited to get going."

Speaking about his exit from Dalymount, having made 379 appearances for the Gypsies in all competitions, he added: "Football is a game of opinions. I have to respect that. Managers have their own opinions, I have mine, that's football. You can't always be a favourite to every manager that comes in the door and that is the way it goes.

"It will be a different challenge here. It's a young squad so there'll be a lot of learning for them. It's a big step up but we'll be ready.

"I'm buzzing. I've been out a year or so really, not injury-wise but game time. I'm itching to get going and getting on the pitch to be competing."

Teehan, 21, came through the Kerry academy to become an established player under Colin Healy.

He impressed manager Ciaran Kilduff during the 2025 season to earn a move to Louth.

"It didn't take much convincing." said Teahan. "It’s a huge club here, and there’s a really good squad. It was really easy for me to make up my mind."

Defender Harvey Warren has already also joined from Bray Wanderers.
