The Republic of Ireland take on Hungary in an international friendly on Saturday that will be played behind closed doors and Carla Ward is looking to experiment while taking some of the pressure off her side.
With the request for privacy coming from the manager, she's eager to fine-tune the 5-3-2 set-up that brought Ireland such success in their two-legged Nations League play-off victory over Belgium.
Victory in that play-off means Ireland will play Nations League A football next year and Ward is aware of the fine margins that could separate teams at that level, hence the need for secrecy in this game.
"We've only played this system in one camp," Ward said. "We've got a camp coming up.
"Obviously we're playing against different types of systems in the A League. So it gives us a chance to look at things, try something different and also not give that 1% to the opposition that we're going to be facing who play a similar way to Hungary.
"It's really important that we can try new things and adapt the system without eyes on it."
Ireland get their Nations League campaign underway in the springtime when they take on France and the Netherlands in the space of a week and Ward is eager to make sure her side are ready to take on two of soccer’s biggest heavyweights.
"We want to try new things ahead of February," she said. "This is the only opportunity we've got and it's only five days together. Five days together is not a long time."
"We want to be able to try and implement some bits that we might look at in February. So, by being behind closed doors, when we face France, there isn't too much for them to look at other than Belgium."
Goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan and forward Leanne Kiernan who were both absent from recent play-offs, return to the squad, while defender Tara O’Hanlon is called up following impressive form for Sunderland.
Kelly Brady receives her first official senior call-up after training with the squad in October, while defenders Heather Payne and Megan Connolly, and midfielder Lily Agg are sidelined through injury.
Jess Ziu and Amber Barrett are also ruled out as they recover from knocks, so Ward looks will hand out at least one new cap with Charlton goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse set to earn her first Irish cap.
"There's going to be changes, six or seven changes from Belgium," said Ward. "It’s a good opportunity to see different people. I'm looking forward to giving Sophie her first cap, and then there'll be a few others as well."
With so many first-team regulars ruled out for the friendly with Hungary, the Ireland boss is eager to get minutes into the leg of some players who may not be featuring for their clubs every week.
"You always want your players to play in as many minutes as possible," she said.
"We'll always select teams based on both minutes and also the level they're playing at. There's a lot of considerations that go into it. But of course you always want players fit, ready and available."
