Kellie Harrington knows a thing or two about performing on the big stage.
The two-time Olympic champion, who recently announced her decision to come out of retirement, wrote herself into Irish sporting folklore with her performances inside the boxing ring in Tokyo and Paris.
She hails from Portland Row in Dublin's north inner city, an area of the country which also produced Ireland's hat-trick hero from the World Cup qualifier in Budapest, Troy Parrott.
"What he has shown last night is discipline, character and resilience," Harrington said of her former neighbour on RTÉ's Today with David McCullagh programme.
"That's everything that is of our makeup, coming from the inner city. It's part of our culture and to hold out like that 30 seconds of the match and to be able to stay strong and finish it the way he did was the stuff of dreams.
"Resilience, you're born in it, it becomes part of you and you learn how to cope under pressure and sit tight and wait for the right moments in life.
"That carries through in sport and it was evident to see that last night."
Harrington enjoyed two homecomings after her Olympic triumphs, with an open top bus through Portland Row in 2021, and a celebration with other Team Ireland medallists last year on Dublin's O'Connell Street.
And while the victory for the soccer team, and particularly the nature of it, has given the country something of a boost today, the 35-year-old reckons it'll mean that little bit more to Parrott's family.
"People from a family watching their son or grandson or brother, they know all the work that has gone in.
"They know the injuries that Troy has had, the setbacks. To be able to watch him there and see him produce what he did, and shine, time after time, it's phenomenal.
"They knew he was destined for great things but this was something special."
Harrington is expecting Parrott to receive the sort of hero's welcome she enjoyed when he's next in the north inner city and she says his exploits on the pitch in Budapest have given the people in his old community a real fillup today.
"It was absolutely incredible," Harrington said of the game.
"Everybody's buzzing, he's the hot topic out of everybody's mouth. And I'm sure he will be for the foreseeable... rightly so.
"There's a great team there with Troy but he's excelled in the last number of games and that's all you can ask for.
"He's incredible, what a great young man.
"I don't think anyone would have expected it but Troy would have expected it."
