There are no words to describe what the Republic of Ireland and Troy Parrott just did in Budapest, but there are numbers to sum up an afternoon when the Boys in Green turned over Hungary in dramatic fashion and booked a place in the World Cup play-offs.
Here's how we rated the Ireland players.
Caoimhín Kelleher - 8
Saw his net bulge inside the first four minutes after Daniel Lukacs headed in from a corner played short, although there was little that the Brentford keeper could have done to keep it out.
Did not have much to do for the next 20-odd minutes but was then called upon to make a superb reflex save to deny Adam Sallai from point blank range.
Had one nervy moment when he collided with Dara O'Shea when coming to claim a cross later in the half but Ireland got away with that one.
There was nothing that he or any goalkeeper could have done to stop Barnabas Varga's chest and half volley as the ball found the postage stamp.
While the angle was tight for Sallai, he did make a good save when the Hungarian forward hit a shot towards the near post. Another sharp save came in the latter stages to deny his former Liverpool team-mate Dominik Szoboszlai from closer in on the other side.
But it's what he did with his feet at the end at the height of desperation when he set up the final happy ending with a lofted long pass into the Hungarian area. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Seamus Coleman - 6
The spiritual leader and "battery" of this Irish squad for so long when available, the Everton captain started to venture further up the right hand touchline after Hungary's second goal and won a free kick down in the corner on 44 minutes.
Conceded a free kick at the start of the second half after Milos Kerkez tried to burst past him. Looked fired up after winning a set-piece of his own after being felled by Adam Sallai.
With the emphasis of the game changing for the final half hour, Coleman was withdrawn for the pace of Festy Ebosele.
Jake O'Brien - 5
Conceded a free kick on 22 minutes after a loose touch that could have led to danger. Otherwise, had been solid up to then on the right of the back three.
Delivered a loose pass to his Everton team-mate Seamus Coleman down the line ten minutes before the break that led to a Hungarian throw in.
Was unable to turn the ball towards the target after ghosting in - if it's possible for a six-foot-six defender to slip into space quietly - at the back post in first half stoppage time to meet a Finn Azaz cross.
Was withdrawn at half-time to allow for Ryan Manning to be brought on.
Nathan Collins - 5
In possession of the armband, the Brentford centre-back had a couple of nervy moments in the early stages like the rest of the game but then began to grow into the occasion after that.
However, he could arguably have been tighter to Barnabas Varga when the Hungary forward chested the ball down just outside the area and swivelled to fire in a rocket to restore the hosts' lead.
Struggled on 74 minutes as Adam Sallai broke through and got a shot away. Did well four minutes later though to provide cover and snuff out a Hungarian attack into the box.
Dara O'Shea - 6
Conceded an early foul on Adam Sallai down the wing as the Boys in Green collectively made a nervy start which was followed by a succession of corners for the Hungarians that led to the opening goal.
Played the excellent pass that released Chiedozie Ogbene for the run in behind that led to Ireland's penalty.
Another good cross-field ball towards Seamus Coleman showed his range five minutes before the half-time whistle.
Was left flat-footed after Dominik Szoboszlai burst past him early in the second half near the right-hand byline.
As Ireland pushed for a winner late on, he had a cross-shot that could have gone anywhere but ended up being diverted away from goal.
Liam Scales - 6
His remit would be arguably more defensive as he again took up the left wing-back berth that the Celtic man had sometimes occupied in his Shamrock Rovers days.
RTÉ soccer analyst Didi Hamann did pinpoint his near-post clearance that conceded what proved to be a damaging corner as one he could have done better with if he had gone with his weaker right foot instead.
Had one early cross badly miscued during a rare foray forward. Shifted inside to left centre-back after Ryan Manning was subbed on for the start of the second half.
Got booked midway through the second half after sliding in on Barnabas Varga. Bailed out Finn Azaz with 18 minutes to go after his team-mate had turned the ball over in a dangerous position.
It was his flick on in the last-gasp dying seconds that guided Troy Parrott Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer style towards a beautiful conclusion.
Josh Cullen - 6
Sat in his customary slot in front of the back five. Off the ball, sat in a mid-block alongside Jayson Molumby and flanked by Chiedozie Ogbene and Finn Azaz when Hungary had the ball in their own third but otherwise, sat deeper when Hungary gained territory.
Had a chance to get the ball in from an opportune free kick from the right hand corner but his floated effort failed to find a team-mate.
Was booked for pulling back Adam Sallai on 77 minutes to prevent a Hungarian counter-attack. Went off shortly after as Jack Taylor came on.
Jayson Molumby - 5
Serving a yellow card suspension for Thursday's win over Portugal, the Waterford man was the only change for this afternoon, replacing Jack Taylor in the side.
It seemed to be his back foot which was the unlucky body part that kept Daniel Lukacs onside for Hungary's early opener when the forward had appeared, on initial viewing, to have strayed into an offside position.
Adam Sallai ran off him on 25 minutes for the chance to meet the cross which saw Caoimhín Kelleher make an excellent save.
Was subbed off with half an hour to go.
Finn Azaz - 6
Was closest to Dominik Szobozslai after the short corner routine when the Hungary captain whipped in the cross that led to the opening goal and perhaps could have closed down the space more quickly, although it seemed the Irish team were collectively caught unawares by the home side's change in tact.
Did play a well-measured ball down the channel for Chiedozie Ogbene in the 35th minute although he did lose his footing when it came back to him.
Put in a good in-swinging cross for Jake O'Brien in first-half stoppage time. Shortly after, he lashed a shot over the bar from the edge of the box after a clearance fell to him.
Slotted back into a deeper position alongside Josh Cullen on the hour mark and would have to call upon the grittier part of his game.
Did lose the ball in a dangerous area on 72 minutes which led to a Hungary chance. But then seven minutes later, he played a deft ball over the top to Troy Parrott for Ireland's second goal.
Chiedozie Ogbene - 7
Had a very slight opening from a corner but the ball wouldn't fall quickly for him before his lashed effort was blocked.
A minute later, the Corkman made a clever run in behind and went down after contact from Attila Szalai who caught his foot, and a VAR check from the referee confirmed the penalty. He had been the outlet against Portugal and was already showing signs of being the pacey option to break the lines again.
Got Attila Szalai booked after spinning the Hungary defender just inside his own half as the clock ticked towards the '45.
Pulled his hamstring after trying to latch onto a one-two with Troy Parrott and had to be withdrawn in an unfortunate end to a decent display.
Troy Parrott - 10
The hero against Portugal, the AZ Alkmaar striker would have another tough task at the Puskas Arena but showed his enterprise by getting down the channel and winning a corner on nine minutes.
Then five minutes later, he stepped up to coolly slot home Ireland's equaliser from the penalty spot despite waiting an age to take his kick.
Saw less of the ball however in the latter part of the opening half, after the initial hectic start to the match, apart from one snapshot on target.
Had a brief opening early in the second half after a free kick into the box but the ball just woulddn't come down for him before Dominik Szoboszlai got in the way.
Played a one-two with Chiedozie Ogbene but the ball got away from his team-mate who could not get to it after pulling his hamstring.
Was flagged for an Adam Idah offside in any case but fluffed his shot with 20 minutes ago just inside the box.
But with 11 minutes to go, he got himself another brace, timing his run brilliantly to latch onto a Finn Azaz chipped pass and dinked the ball over Denes Dibusz.
Then in echoes of 2002 when Robbie Keane ran onto a Niall Quinn flick on against Germany, he was in the perfect place to drift onto a Liam Scales flick on and poke the ball into the net for a hat-trick and Ireland's passage into an improbable play-off.
Substitutes
Ryan Manning (H/T for O'Brien) - 7
Had missed the Portugal game and was introduced at half-time, moving to left wing back to give more attacking impetus from that flank.
He was lively after coming on as he tried to get crosses in from open play and set pieces.
Adam Idah (52 mins for Ogbene) - 6
Replaced the injured Chiedozie Ogbene so had plenty of time to try and impose himself on the game alongside Troy Parrott as Ireland chased the two goals they needed at that point.
For a moment, it looked like he had scored with a beautiful delicate chip over the goalkeeper but he was ultimately flagged offside.
Had a difficult headed opportunity on 66 minutes from a deep Finn Azaz cross but was unable to keep his effort down.
Did make a run down the channel to set up Troy Parrott but was flagged for offside.
Johnny Kenny (60 for Molumby) - 6
Some occasion for the Sligo man to make his senior debut but the Celtic striker was coming in off good club form.
His first major intervention was defensive as he battled back to win possession in the left back zone while giving Ryan Manning a dig out. Largely, played to the left of the attacking unit.
Had a great chance after ghosting in at the far post on the '90 but Hungary's keeper made a really good save.
Festy Ebosele (60 for Coleman) - 5
His remit was simple, use his pace from right wing back. However, Hungary kept touch tight and he did not make much of an impact other than being booked on 88 minutes for a foul on the busy Adam Sallai.
Jack Taylor (80 for Cullen) - 5
Not a lot of time for the midfielder who had played his part against Portugal.
