Paris St Germain held onto top spot in Ligue 1 despite dropping points again, this time to lowly Lorient.

PSG were surprisingly held to a 1-1 draw, with Igor Silva quickly cancelling out Nuno Mendes' opener in the early stages of the second half.

It was a third draw in four league matches for Luis Enrique’s side, who looked set to slip behind Marseille, only for Angers to snatch a 2-2 draw.

OM were aiming to bounce back after suffering successive losses in the league and European Cup to Sporting Lisbon and Lens.

They trailed to a first-half goal from Sidiki Cherif but Robinio Vaz’s second-half double looked to have put them on their way to victory, only for Ousmane Camara to equalise for Angers six minutes into added time.

Monaco climbed above Marseille into second place thanks to an eventful 5-3 victory over Nantes.

The sides were locked together at half-time after Herba Guirassy twice cancelled out goals from Mamadou Coulibaly and Folarin Balogun.

Maghnes Akliouche and Aleksandr Golovin put Monaco 4-2 up with 15 minutes left only for Mostafa Mohamed to pull Nantes back into it again but a second from Golovin in added time secured them the points.

Liam Rosenior’s fourth-placed Strasbourg defeated Auxerre 3-0, while fifth-placed Lyon led 3-0 at Paris FC but were pegged back to 3-3 in a game where both teams had a player dismissed.

Lens were brought back down to earth after their victory over Marseille, losing 2-0 to Metz. It was a memorable final five minutes for Gauthier Hein, who scored a penalty in the 87th minute, added a second goal in injury time and was then sent off.

Elsewhere, Nice defeated Lille 2-0, Toulouse and Rennes drew 2-2 and Le Havre were 1-0 winners over Brest.

Inter Milan bounced back from defeat against Napoli by easing to a 3-0 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s opener was followed shortly afterwards by a second from Petar Sucic, and Calhanoglu added another from the penalty spot after Mattia Viti had been sent off.

Roma remain three points ahead of Inter and level with Napoli after beating Parma 2-1.

Mario Hermoso and Artem Dovbyk had put the capital side two up before Alessandro Circati pulled one back late on.

Republic of Ireland striker Evan Ferguson, making his first start since 2 October, was withdrawn after just seven minutes due to injury.

Juventus ended a miserable eight-game winless run, including three straight losses, by beating Udinese 3-1 under interim boss Massimo Brambilla.

Dusan Vlahovic opened the scoring in just the fifth minute from the penalty spot but Niccolo Zaniolo drew Udinese level just before half-time.

However, Federico Gatti put the hosts back in front midway through the second half and Kenan Yildiz made sure of the points with an injury-time penalty.

Como maintained their lofty position with a 3-1 victory over Verona while Cremonese defeated bottom side Genoa 2-0 and Bologna and Torino drew 0-0.

It was another successful night for Harry Kane, meanwhile, with the England captain scoring twice more in Bayern Munich’s 4-1 victory over Koln in the DFB Pokal.
