Germany reached the final of the Women's Nations League after a 2-2 draw with France in Caen, securing a 3-2 aggregate victory following their first-leg win in Duesseldorf.

Melvine Malard gave France an early lead in the third minute with a header from Selma Bacha's cross, but Nicole Anyomi equalised nine minutes later with a well-placed finish.

Klara Buehl, who had scored in the first leg, put Germany ahead early in the second half, and although Clara Mateo's late header made it 2-2, France could not find a winner to force extra time.

Germany will face Spain in the final, with the first leg scheduled for 28 November at home and the return leg on 2 December.

Alexia Putellas scored the only goal in the world champions' 1-0 victory over Sweden in the second leg, which secured a 5-0 aggregate win.

Spain had cruised to an easy 4-0 victory in the first leg on Friday, but tonight's match looked destined to end goalless before Claudia Pina worked the ball into the box and then sent a cross to Putellas, who finished with a blistering shot into the net in the 75th minute.

Putellas and Pina had netted two goals apiece in the first leg.

Sarina Wiegman was concerned about a serious-looking knee injury to forward Michelle Agyemang that marred England's 3-0 friendly win over Australia.

Substitute Agyemang, the teenage star of the Lionesses’ successful European Championship defence this summer, was carried off on a stretcher as goals from Aggie Beever-Jones, Lucy Bronze and a late Georgia Stanway penalty saw England to a comfortable win at Pride Park.

That came against an Australia side, reduced to 10 players in just the 19th minute when Alanna Kennedy was sent off for hauling down Alessia Russo as the England striker was running through on goal.

Agyemang was introduced in the 62nd minute but went down clutching her knee in an incident away from the play and Wiegman said: "It was an awful moment, doesn’t look good. We don’t know yet until she gets assessed but I’m not very positive about what I saw."

Beever-Jones scored a thunderous opener, at the second attempt from the free-kick conceded by Kennedy, before Bronze swept home a second on her 34th birthday.

The result marked a positive response after England were beaten 2-1 by Brazil, who also had a player sent off, on Saturday.

Wales' winless run was extended to 11 matches as they slipped to a 5-2 friendly defeat to impressive Poland at Rodney Parade.

Elise Hughes gave the hosts an early lead before goals from Nadia Krezyman and Milena Kokosz put Poland 2-1 up at the break.

Krezyman doubled the visitors’ lead and although Wales responded immediately through Carrie Jones, Paulina Tomasiak made it three goals in as many minutes before Klaudia Jedlinska’s superb effort completed the scoring.

Wales, whose last win was in December last year against the Republic of Ireland in the Euro 2025 play-off, made nine changes after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Australia at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Sydney Schertenleib struck twice for Switzerland as Scotland were denied back-to-back wins in an entertaining 4-3 friendly defeat at East End Park.

Scotland twice hit back to equalise in the first half through Kathleen McGovern and Geraldine Reuteler's own goal after Schertenleib and Iman Beney had fired the Swiss in front.

But the hosts were made to pay for missed chances – Erin Cuthbert and Caroline Weir both hit the woodwork – as Schertenleib and Smilla Vallotto were on target in the second period before Weir’s stoppage-time consolation.
