Shelbourne pair Ali Coote and John Martin have both penned two-year deals with the club keeping them at Tolka Park until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Shels, who are about to relinquish their league title with two games remaining of the domestic season but are in a strong position to secure European football again next season, have secured the services of two of Joey O'Brien’s key personnel

Coote joined the Reds in July 2024 from Detroit City FC and has become a vital part of the squad, scoring half a dozen goals in 43 appearances for the club.

The 27-year-old has cemented his place in the first-team this season, netting two goals in eight European appearances as Shelbourne reached the league phase of continental competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Before returning to the League of Ireland, Coote enjoyed spells with Bohemians and Waterford FC, amassing over 100 appearances in the league.

Martin also joined the club last year, with the striker quickly winning over the supporters with his work-rate, with 14 goals to show in 76 appearances.

The 26-year-old has more than doubled his goal tally this year, registering 10 in all competitions, including a memorable strike in the away victory over HNK Rijeka during the European campaign.

Martin has represented the Republic of Ireland at U17, U18 and U19 level.
