Portugal coach Roberto Martinez has named Nelson Semedo, Matheus Nunes and Rafael Leao in his 25-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland and Hungary.
The Selecao are in a commanding position in Group F with two wins from two, and six points from their home games against the Boys in Green next week (11 October) and Hungary three days later is likely to seal automatic qualification for next year's World Cup.
Both matches will be played at Sporting CP’s Estadio Jose Alvalade.
With Joao Cancelo injured, it is the same squad from the September double-header, with the addition of the aforementioned trio.
Milan forward Leao is returning after a recent injury lay-off, Nunes is rewarded for his early-season form with Manchester City, while former Wolves player Semedo – who moved to Fenerbahce in the summer – offer further options down the right flank.
The hosts will be led by talisman Ronaldo, who extended his international record to 141 goals in 223 international appearances last month.
The 40-year-old netted for the 39th time in World Cup qualifying matches against Hungary last time out, making him the joint-highest ever scorer alongside Guatemala's Carlos Ruiz – and three ahead of Argentina's Lionel Messi.
Heimir Hallgrimsson’s Ireland are seeking a first win in the group, with the daunting trip to Lisbon followed a home tie against Armenia.
Troy Parrott, Seamus Coleman and John Egan have all been named in the Ireland squad, though Parrott isn’t expected to feature against Portugal as he returns from injury.
He will be assessed by the FAI medical team on his arrival into camp.
