Chris Wilder's return to Sheffield United turned sour as Charlton substitute Tanto Oloafe snatched a last-minute winner to leave the Blades rooted to the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

Wilder swept back in to Bramall Lane to replace Ruben Selles earlier this week but Oloafe’s effort made plain the size of the task ahead with his club still searching for their first points of an increasingly desperate campaign.

Tyrese Campbell missed two good chances in the first half but Blades keeper Michael Cooper denied Lloyd Jones and Greg Docherty headed over for the visitors before Oloafe turned home a low cross in the dying seconds.

In contrast city rivals Sheffield Wednesday claimed their first win of the campaign as Barry Bannan’s early free-kick and a second-half strike from George Brown on his league debut saw the Owls sink Portsmouth 2-0 at Fratton Park.

The pressure eased on Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson as a Josh Windass double helped his side secure a 3-2 win over Norwich at Carrow Road.

Jack Stacey struck the Canaries in front but Windass’s brace sandwiched a 55th-minute strike from Ryan Longman as the Welsh side hit back before being forced to cling on after Jovon Makama’s late effort for the hosts.

Goals from Kyle Joseph, John Lundstram and Oli McBurnie helped Hull end a run of three games without a win as they eased past Southampton 3-1 at the MKM Stadium.

Blackburn’s game against Ipswich was abandoned with around 10 minutes remaining due to heavy rain at Ewood Park.

Ipswich had Jacob Greaves sent off four minutes into the second half and Blackburn were leading 1-0 due to Todd Cantwell’s 59th-minute penalty when the match was stopped.

Lyndon Dykes’ stoppage time effort saw Birmingham bounce back from two straight defeats to beat Swansea 1-0, while on-loan Alfie Devine grabbed the only goal in Preston’s 1-0 win at Derby.

Harvey Vale’s first goal for QPR gave them a 1-0 win over in-form Stoke at Loftus Road, and a superb goalkeeping display from Coventry’s Carl Rushworth helped the Sky Blues hold on for a goalless draw at Leicester.
