Fixture details for Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers in the Conference League have been confirmed, with both sides beginning their league phase on 2 October.

History was made on Thursday evening as two League of Ireland clubs qualified for the league/group stages of a major European club competition for the first time, this after Shels' 2-0 win away to Linfield and the Hoops drawing 0-0 at home to Santa Clara.

It's the second successive year that Stephen Bradley's side have made the league phase, while it's new territory for the Tolka Park outfit.

The 2024 Premier Division champion begin with a home tie against Swedish opposition BK Hacken on the first Thursday in October. Three weeks later, Joey O'Brien's men travel to North Macedonia to take on Shkendija. November will see away assignments against Drita of Kosovo and AZ Alkmaar, with the Dutch side featuring Troy Parrott in their ranks.

Thursday, 11 December sees Crystal Palace heading to Dublin before things conclude away to Celje in Slovenia seven days later.

A trip to face Sparta Prague is first up for Shamrock Rovers, with Celje then heading to Tallaght Stadium on 23 October. A couple of tough assignments in the shape of AEK Athens (away) and Shakhtar Donetsk (home) await in November.

The Hoops round off their campaign away to old Icelandic foes Breidablik, who eliminated them from the 2023-24 Champions League qualifiers, and at home to Maltese outfit Hamrun Spartans.
