Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim says Rasmus Hojlund is available to face Grimsby in the Carabao Cup despite seemingly heading for the Old Trafford exit.
Hojlund was absent from the United squad for their opening two Premier League matches of the season amid speculation linking him with a move to Napoli.
The 22-year-old Dane's days at United look numbered following the big-money arrivals of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer.
However, when quizzed whether Hojlund could figure in Wednesday night’s trip to Blundell Park, Amorim said: "All the players are available. Then we will make the choice to try to get the best starting XI to win the game."
United have picked up just one point from their opening two Premier League matches, a defeat at home to Arsenal and Sunday's 1-1 draw at Fulham.
Amorim admitted he will shuffle his pack against the Sky Bet League Two Mariners.
"We have three games this week," he added. "We have quality players and we have to rotate to try to win every game."
Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui is not ready to return, but is edging closer to fitness.
The 27-year-old missed most of United’s pre-season fixtures after picking up a thigh injury.
"Maybe he’s going to return next week," added Amorim. "We are just finishing some drills with him to make sure he’s not going to have another problem."
Newcastle and Aston Villa remain in the race to sign Nicolas Jackson (above) from Chelsea despite a loan bid having been received for the striker from Bayern Munich.
The 24-year-old has been told he can leave Stamford Bridge, with the Blues favouring a permanent transfer ahead of next week's deadline, though the only bid so far has come from the Bundesliga champions for a season-long arrangement.
Napoli are also interested in taking the Senegal international off Chelsea’s hands, though it is not known whether they would prefer a transfer over a loan.
Jackson does not have a future at Chelsea following the arrivals of strikers Joao Pedro from Brighton and Liam Delap from Ipswich during the summer.
Crystal Palace have expressed an interest to Manchester City in defender Manuel Akanji but have not yet lodged an official bid, RTÉ Sport understands.
Palace's interest in Switzerland international Akanji (above) comes amid continued speculation that England centre-back Marc Guehi could leave the Eagles in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Reports have suggested Palace would pay £15m (€17m) for Akanji, but it is understood no firm bid has been made at this stage.
Akanji (30) joined City from Borussia Dortmund in September 2022 and was a key component of the side which won the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup treble in 2023, and the team which won the domestic title again in 2024.
Guehi continues to be linked with a move away from Selhurst Park with Liverpool among the clubs who have pursued him this summer.
Palace completed the sale of England midfielder Eberechi Eze to Arsenal last week.
The signings of Walter Benitez from PSV Eindhoven and Borna Sosa from Ajax are the only two arrivals at Palace so far this summer.
Striker Carney Chukwuemeka (above) has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old made 32 first-team appearances for the Blues, before spending the second half of last season on loan in Germany.
He had not featured for Chelsea since their Europa Conference League match against Astana in December 2024.
Chukwuemeka, who has signed a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2030, told his new club's official website: "It feels great. I’ve got to know the club, the players and the fans over the past few months."

Russell Martin expects Hamza Igamane to soon leave Rangers.
The Morocco striker made headlines after he reported an injury when the Gers boss asked him to come off the bench at St Mirren on Sunday, with the William Hill Premiership game ending 1-1 to pile more pressure on the former Southampton manager.
Lille are reported to have had a bid of around £10.5million (€12m) accepted by the Ibrox club for the 22-year-old forward, who hit 16 goals in his debut season for the Gers following his move from Moroccan side AS Far in 2024.
Igamane did not travel to Belgium for the second leg of the Champions League play-off tie with Club Brugge tomorrow (Live on RTÉ2/Player), who lead 3-1 from the first leg at Ibrox and Martin spoke of impending developments.
"We all expect that to come to a close soon and he won't be our player anymore so that will be that," said the Rangers boss, who confirmed striker Cyriel Dessers is back in the squad following his recovery from injury.
"And everyone else is pretty much here. So looking forward to a big, big game tomorrow.
"I haven’t seen him (Igamane), he had a scan yesterday and got assessed.
"And then, obviously stuff’s happening today, so he wasn’t in, so it hasn’t been disruptive, moving forward, at all. It’s happened, we moved forward, we dealt with it.
"He’s got what he wanted, well, it looks likely to get what he wanted, to play somewhere else.
"And it means we’ve got a sum of money that we wanted for him.
"So ideally it wouldn’t have happened, but it did and now we move forward and we can move on."
Asked if Igamane’s scan revealed an injury issue, Martin said: "I expect him to pass his medical."
