Derry City have brought in Scottish midfielder Adam Frizzell from Airdrieoneans, while Dom Thomas has departed for Ayr United.
Frizzell, 27, has agreed an 18-month contract with the Candystripes and is available for selection from next week.
He began his senior career at Kilmarnock and has spells at Livingston, Queen of the South and Dumbarton in Scotland.
Frizzell spent the last four years with Airdrioneans making 169 appearances and scoring 17 goals.
Thomas only joined City last January from another Scottish Championship side, Queen's Park, but failed to settle in Ireland.
The signing of Frizzell is seen as a replacement for Thomas.
City face Drogheda United on Friday at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
They are fourth in the Premier Division table having recorded back-to-back victories in Dublin last Friday and Monday.
