Republic of Ireland defender Andrew Omobamidele has completed a permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Strasbourg for a fee in the region of €8m.

Omobamidele, who turned 23 on Monday, spent the latter half of last season on loan in northeastern France.

The Ligue 1 outfit went on to finish seventh in the table to secure a place in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers.

Capped 10 times by Ireland, Omobamidele made 15 appearances in all competitions for Forest after signing from Norwich City.

After confirming the deal on their official website, a statement from the Premier League club read: "Everyone at Nottingham Forest wishes Andrew well for the future and thanks him for his contribution during his time at the club."
