Troy Parrott slotted his 20th goal of the season from a re-taken penalty but AZ Alkmaar suffered disappointment against Go Ahead Eagles in a dramatic Dutch Cup final in Rotterdam.
The Dubliner had given Alkmaar the lead from the penalty spot on the 54th minute - albeit only after a stroke of fortune. His initial penalty effort was saved but Parrott was offered a second chance after a VAR review determined that Eagles defender Mathis Suray had encroached in the penalty area before clearing the rebound.
The Republic of Ireland international made no mistake on the second attempt, sending the keeper the wrong way.

Parrott was forced off with injury shortly afterwards but his strike appeared to have settled the contest until deep in injury time, when the Eagles were awarded a 99th-minute penalty, converted by captain Mats Deijl.
After a goalless extra-time period, there was agony for Alkmaar in the shootout as misses from Zico Burmeester and Mayckel Lahdo saw Go Ahead Eagles claim their first ever Cup victory.
