Athlone Town are searching for a new manager after Dario Castelo departed the role by mutual consent on Saturday night.
Castelo took charge of the team in 2023 and led Athlone to the play-offs in each of the past two seasons.
However, despite the club investing in the squad ahead of this campaign, Town have struggled and sit bottom of the First Division after nine matches.
They have won just two games all year with the play-off positions five points away.
A 3-0 defeat to Kerry FC last Friday proved to be Castelo's final match in charge.
Athlone said Castelo departs with "the respect and gratitude of everyone at the club".
Castelo added: "I would like to thank everyone for all the support, respect and friendship I received throughout my time in this role."
