Shelbourne midfielder Alex Kavanagh has been called up to the Republic of Ireland WNT squad for Tuesday's UEFA Nations League clash with Greece at Tallaght Stadium.
Kavanagh, who was last involved at international level as an unused substitute in an international friendly against the USA in 2019, comes in for Katie McCabe, who is suspended following the yellow card picked up in Friday afternoon's 4-0 win over the same opposition.
The 25-year-old has been a stand-out performer in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division and has one Ireland cap to her name after coming on in a friendly match against Wales nine years ago.
Kavanagh has been with Shels from the age of 11 and is in her ninth season with their senior side.
It means that three of Carla Ward's six listed midfield players are from the League of Ireland with Shels' team-mate Aoibheann Clancy and Ruesha Littlejohn of Shamrock Rovers joining Denise O'Sullivan (North Carolina Courage), Tyler Toland (Blackburn Rovers) and Marissa Sheva (Sunderland).
