Northern Ireland were denied back-to-back Women's Nations League victories after Romania hit back to share the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Group B1.
Looking to build on their dramatic 3-2 win over Bosnia in February, Northern Ireland drew first blood in Bucharest when Danielle Maxwell struck in the 33rd minute.
However, a defensive mix-up allowed Romania to level shortly afterwards through Mihaela Ciolacu as the home side secured their first point of the campaign.
The draw sees the North remain second in the group behind Poland as they prepare to face the Romanians again in Belfast on Tuesday.
Burnley winger Maxwell gave Tanya Oxtoby’s side the lead when she drove into the area before drilling home a shot into the far corner of the net.
But the visitors were only ahead for five minutes before Romania drew level.
Rachel Dugdale and Ellie Mason appeared to get in each other’s way as they both went for the same pass forward and, with neither cutting the ball out, the unmarked Ciolacu was gifted the chance to control and finish past Jackie Burns.
Ciolacu came close to snatching a late winner but her stoppage-time effort hit the woodwork.
Elsewhere, England comfortably preserved their unbeaten record in this season's Nations League after a dominant display saw them brush aside Belgium 5-0 at Ashton Gate.
First-half goals from Lucy Bronze and Millie Bright underlined England’s control of the contest, and it could have been more but Alessia Russo twice hit the post.
Substitute Aggie Beever-Jones scored her first Lionesses goal after 67 minutes, with no let-up from England in all areas of the pitch, before Jess Park and Keira Walsh also found the target.
Belgium had little answer to England’s movement and passing accuracy as they made it seven points from a possible nine in Group A3 ahead of Tuesday’s return fixture in Leuven.
Scotland's struggles continued in Group A1 with a 4-0 home defeat to Germany.
Michael McArdle’s side got off to a nightmare start in Dundee when Germany’s Elisa Senss scored inside the first minute to set the tone for a one-sided affair.
After Sophie Howard’s own goal put the visitors 2-0 up at the break, Cora Zicai and Lea Schuller scored within three minutes of each other just before the hour to seal Germany’s victory and leave Scotland rooted to the foot of the table.
Wales boss Rhian Wilkinson expressed concern over Ceri Holland after she left the field on a stretcher during the 2-1 Nations League defeat to Denmark.
Holland suffered the injury three months before the Women's European Championship, Wales’ first major tournament, which they reached after beating the Republic of Ireland in a play-off last December.
The Liverpool winger scored Wales’ first-half goal and was arguably their best player, but her involvement was ended inside the final 10 minutes following a 50-50 tackle with Denmark midfielder Josefine Hasbo.
"I’m concerned and don’t think you can look at it any different way," said Wilkinson. "She’s gone to hospital to get checked out. She’ll be treated with the best people to get everything she needs.
"It looked like a full-on tackle between two players., no foul. Two women with absolute commitment to the game.
"I hope it’s one of those that just hurts a lot. Fingers crossed, what the news will be.
"She was obviously in a lot of pain and discomfort, and we’ll deal with it when we know what it is.
"I don’t know anything at this time. But I don’t want us to be guessing, because you can catastrophize things like this."
